Mets to formally introduce Juan Soto on Thursday after making signing official
Juan Soto is officially a member of the Mets, with New York announcing on Wednesday that the club has signed the biggest free-agent prize of this offseason to a 15-year contract with a club option and contingent player opt-out after the 2029 season.
Next up: The Mets will officially announce the signing of Soto during a press conference at Citi Field on Thursday at 3 p.m. ET. Owner, chairman and CEO Steven A. Cohen as well as president of baseball operations David Stearns will be on hand to welcome Soto to Queens.
Soto's 15-year, $765 million contract is the largest pact in Major League Baseball history.
