Chargois exits vs. Cards with neck discomfort
LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers reliever JT Chargois was removed from Monday night's 5-3 loss to the Cardinals after facing one batter because of neck discomfort and is likely headed to the disabled list, manager Dave Roberts said after the game.
Chargois was brought in to relieve starter Alex Wood with runners on the corners and no outs in the top of the fifth. He walked Marcell Ozuna on six pitches, five of them sliders, and Roberts then brought a trainer to the mound. Chargois was removed and replaced by Pedro Baez.
"It's a neck-arm combo and we're going to get an MRI tomorrow," said Roberts. "There was some neck and going down to his arm. He said there might have been some tingling, so we had to get him out."
Roberts said it was "probably a fair assumption" that Chargois would go on the disabled list. The Dodgers currently have six relievers on the disabled list -- John Axford, Tony Cingrani, Josh Fields, Yimi Garcia, Tom Koehler and Zachary Rosscup. Starters Thomas Stripling, Julio Urias and Dennis Santana are also on the DL and have relief experience.
