Dodgers place Sborz (back) on IL, recall Beaty
LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers placed right-handed reliever Josh Sborz on the 10-day injured list on Friday and recalled infielder Matt Beaty from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
The moves come one day after Sborz was recalled and Beaty was optioned. Sborz made his big league debut on Thursday night, retiring the side in order in the eighth inning, then failing to retire a batter in San Francisco’s five-run ninth inning, charged with three of the runs.
The Dodgers played Thursday night’s game with a three-man bench after recalling Sborz and JT Chargois to replenish the bullpen after Rich Hill’s one-inning start on Wednesday night.
During Thursday’s game, Max Muncy left in the eighth inning with a bruised right ankle after fouling a pitch off of it. He said it felt like a sprained ankle, but he is expected to be available Friday night.
