Soler takes Series swag to Latin Grammys
Two weeks after reaching the summit of the baseball world as World Series MVP for the Atlanta Braves in their six-game win over the Houston Astros in the Fall Classic, Jorge Soler found himself at the center of the Latin music scene.
On Thursday, Soler was at the 2021 Latin Grammys at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas to present the award for best urban music album to Bad Bunny, a huge baseball fan who is also part-owner of the Cangrejeros de Santurce professional basketball team in his native Puerto Rico.
Wearing a suit from a fashion designer from his native Cuba, along with a Dolce & Gabbana sweater and shoes and his famous necklace -- an accessory that he never takes off, even while hitting mammoth home runs like the one he belted in Game 6 of the World Series -- Soler made an indelible impression at the awards ceremony.
“The chain always has to be there,” Soler said. “I always have to have the chain around my neck.”
