Astros' Loperfido makes leaping, juggling catch -- TWICE!

Officially, the play went down as: "Willi Castro flies out sharply to right fielder Joey Loperfido."

That doesn't even begin to tell the story of everything that happened to the baseball that the Twins' Castro hit in the bottom of the eighth inning of the Astros' 13-12 victory on Friday night at Target Field.

Castro crushed a pitch from Luis Contreras to deep right. Joey Loperfido drifted back and leaped with his glove above the wall and made the catch -- initially.

But the force of hitting the wall jarred the ball loose, while Loperfido was falling to the warning track.

Before the ball hit the ground, Loperfido reached up with his bare right hand and caught the ball a second time -- and this time he held on. Or did he?

The call on the field was no catch. The Astros disputed that, and the call was overturned.

In the end, it was officially "Willi Castro flies out sharply to right fielder Joey Loperfido." But it was so much more.
