It sure looked like Jean Segura was ready for the World Series to start.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Phillies were ready to embark on their flight to Houston ahead of Game 1 of the Fall Classic, with most players boarding the plane in the standard traveling apparel of suit and tie. Then there was Segura, who was clad in his full uniform, making it seem a whole lot like he was about to board in his game-ready getup.

Segura did clarify on Thursday, though, that he didn't actually wear his uniform on the plane. Instead, he wore it to meet his family, who were on their way to the ballpark, according to the Athletic. 

Still, it's fun to imagine a player being so amped for the World Series that they might take a flight in full uniform. In Segura's case, it would have been understandable -- he entered the postseason with the most career games played (1,328) among active MLB players without appearing in the playoffs.

In his first postseason, Segura is batting .257 with five RBIs in 11 games, with his standout moment coming in Game 3 of the NLCS when he made a key error, netted a go-ahead hit and was picked off at first -- all in the same inning.

At 8 p.m. ET on Friday, the Phillies and Astros will take the field for Game 1 of the 2022 World Series. If his attire on Wednesday was any indication, Segura will be ready (and prepared) for the spotlight.
