Jean Segura Steals First Base
A steal of first base! Bet you didn't think you'd see that! But it happened! Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jean Segura managed to accomplish a rather rare feat this weekend by stealing first base after already being safe on second. Ryan Braun was out on second as the two Brewers were standing on the same bag, which was originally occupied by Segura.
What makes this rare event even stranger is that this isn't the first time first base has been 'stolen' in the Majors. In 1987, Blue Jays center fielder Lloyd Moseby stole second base, then first, and then second again. It happened all in the same play thanks to some missed throws by the opposing fielders.
Man, base runners do the darndest things! Considering all the bizarre plays in the past, what are some of your favorite non-routine plays? Comment below.
