The real magician in this scene was Jason Vargas.

With Javier Baez, affectionately known as El Mago, taking off for second in the bottom of the second inning at Wrigley Field on Friday, Mets catcher Tomas Nido rushed his throw -- so much so that he nearly hit Vargas, who ducked out of the way in time as Baez swiped second.

Nido could only say, "My bad," while Vargas let out a big sigh of relief while giving the thumbs-up.
