D-backs activate Lamb from injured list
After missing almost three months, Jake Lamb is back with the D-backs. Arizona activated Lamb from the injured list before Wednesday's game against the Dodgers at Chase Field.
The D-backs optioned infielder Domingo Leyba to Triple-A Reno following Tuesday night's game to make room for Lamb.
Lamb was in the starting lineup for the D-backs' 8-2 victory in Wednesday's series finale, and he went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts.
The 28-year-old hasn't played a big league game since April 3, when he strained his left quad in the ninth inning against the Padres. Lamb is being activated following a 12-game rehab stint with Reno.
Lamb is 4-for-15 with a double in his five games this season. He hit .222 with six home runs last year, when he was limited to just 56 games due to left shoulder issues, following an All-Star 2017 season in which he hit 30 home runs and had 105 RBIs.
The 23-year-old Leyba made his Major League debut on June 22 and went 1-for-4 in four games with the big league club.
