BOSTON -- Jackson Holliday’s first full professional season will begin at the same Minor League level where he ended his debut 2022 campaign. The 19-year-old shortstop is set to open the year at Single-A Delmarva, which announced its break-camp roster on Saturday.

During the 2023 season, Holliday should ascend at least one rank. Maybe even more.

“I’d like to make it to Double-A, for sure, absolutely,” Holliday said during Spring Training. “Obviously, if you make it to Triple-A, like that’s pretty awesome. But Double-A would be a good goal for me moving into next year.”

Holliday, the Orioles’ No. 3 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 12 overall prospect, made a strong impression on Baltimore’s big league staff this spring. After getting taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, Holliday was invited to Major League camp as a non-roster invitee. He then went 6-for-14 with one double, one RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored in 16 Grapefruit League games.

Last year, Holliday played only eight games in the Florida Complex League before getting moved up to Single-A. He appeared in 12 contests for Delmarva, slashing .238/.439/.333 with four doubles and six RBIs.

There’s a good chance Holliday’s upcoming stint with the Shorebirds won’t be long. If he gets off to a hot start over the next few weeks, don’t be surprised if the Orioles move him up to High-A Aberdeen to begin the next stage of his pro career.

Triple-A: Haskin off to hot start for Norfolk
Hudson Haskin, Baltimore’s No. 15 prospect, has been a key contributor to Triple-A Norfolk’s 2-0 start to the 2023 season. The 24-year-old outfielder, who is playing at the Triple-A level for the first time, went 1-for-5 in his Norfolk debut at Durham on Friday. Then, he went 3-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs, a walk and three runs scored on Saturday.

Although Haskin spent most of Spring Training in Minor League camp, he still appeared in five Grapefruit games, going 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. He has immediately carried that positive momentum into the regular season.

Double-A: Kjerstad highlights Bowie’s break-camp roster
Heston Kjerstad, the Orioles’ No. 6 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 80 overall prospect, was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft. But the 24-year-old outfielder has yet to play above High-A, due to missing all of ‘21 with myocarditis and early ‘22 with a left hamstring strain.

However, Kjerstad will soon make his Double-A debut, as he was included on Bowie’s break-camp roster. The Baysox are set to open their season on Thursday at Hartford. Kjerstad will look to keep raking after his tremendous spring, when he went 16-for-42 (.381) with four doubles, one triple, four homers and nine RBIs in 23 Grapefruit games.

High-A: Beavers headlines Aberdeen’s break-camp roster
The highest-ranked prospect on High-A Aberdeen’s break-camp roster is outfielder Dylan Beavers, who was selected by the O’s with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft. The former University of California outfielder played three games in the FCL, 16 with Delmarva and four with Aberdeen last year.

The IronBirds are scheduled to open their season on Thursday vs. Wilmington.
