Hunter Greene was one of the most hyped MLB Draft prospects in recent memory before the Reds selected him second overall in 2017. He's the Reds' No. 1 prospect and the No. 22 prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. Here's what to know about the hard-throwing right-hander:

He throws hard ... really hard

Greene's fastball was clocked at 102 mph while pitching for Notre Dame High School in Southern California in 2017. Following a strong '21 season between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Louisville, in which he posted a 3.30 ERA and struck out 32 percent of the batters he faced, he was named to the Reds' Opening Day starting rotation in '22.

He's already been on the cover of Sports Illustrated

After his fastball touched 102 mph as a prep star, Greene found himself on the cover of Sports Illustrated before he was even drafted No. 2 overall by the Reds in 2017.

He's an incredibly talented painter

The same arm Greene uses to unleash triple-digit fastballs is also used to paint masterpieces like the one that was featured prior to the 2018 All-Star Game in Washington.

He spotlights great amateur players on his Twitter feed

If you have a look at Greene's Twitter feed (@HunterGreene17), you'll see a lot of retweets of posts from amateur baseball players or their parents/coaches. Greene also donates equipment and provides other assistance for youth baseball leagues.

He wasn't only a lights-out pitcher in high school, but could crush it at the plate, too

Greene was also a shortstop in high school and scouted as a power hitter. According to MLB Pipeline, he could have been a first-round Draft pick as an infielder given the strength of his bat.

Greene went to the same high school as Giancarlo Stanton

Stanton, the Yankees slugger and former National League MVP, attended Notre Dame High School from 2004-07. The Marlins selected him in the second round of the '07 Draft. Another notable MLB player out of Notre Dame High School was Jack McDowell, who won the 1993 American League Cy Young Award and was a three-time All-Star right-hander for the White Sox.

Greene participated in MLB's RBI program as a kid

At seven years old, Greene attended MLB's Urban Youth Academy program in Compton, Calif., surely sparking his passion for giving back to youth baseball programs around the country.

Greene's father worked on the O.J. Simpson case

Greene's father, Russell, is a renowned private investigator who worked for famed attorney Johnnie Cochran in Los Angeles for 20 years, beginning toward the end of the O.J. Simpson trial in the mid-1990s. His client list has included the Kardashians, Kanye West, Justin Bieber and Reggie Bush.
