Right-hander Bautista called up from Vegas
Mets option infielder Guillorme to Triple-A
The Mets recalled right-handed pitcher Gerson Bautista from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned infielder Luis Guillorme to Las Vegas ahead of Tuesday's game against the Pirates in New York.
Bautista joins the Mets for a third time this season after stints with them from April 17-21 and May 28-June 5. The 23-year-old made his Major League debut on April 17 vs. Washington. In five games for the Mets this season, Bautista is 0-1 with a 12.46 ERA in 4 1/3 innings.
In 18 games this season between Las Vegas and Double-A Binghamton, Bautista is 2-1 with a 5.61 ERA with 33 strikeouts and nine walks in 25 2/3 innings. Bautista's 12 most recent appearances were with the 51s, for whom he was 1-1 with a 6.06 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings.
Bautista is 11-12 with a 2.97 ERA and 215 strikeouts in 103 career Minor League games. He was acquired by the Mets from Boston in July 2017 in exchange for Addison Reed.
Guillorme batted .172 (10-for-58) with two doubles and four RBIs in 29 games with the Mets.
