Bellinger, Tatis Jr. joke about HR robbery
'I would have been so mad if you did that to me'
Cody Bellinger robbed Fernando Tatis Jr. in the catch heard around the world during Game 2 of the NLDS on Wednesday night. In a team sport, it was a rare one-on-one moment between two of baseball's biggest superstars. It was awesome.
Emotions, of course, ran high after the play. There was some dugout-yelling and kiss-blowing and hat-throwing. People said things they probably regret.
But then, in Game 3 the very next night, the two main characters in the play -- Bellinger and Tatis Jr. -- crossed paths at second base in the second inning. There was no yelling. There were no dirty looks. There was no tying another's shoes together so they fall over and make a fool of themselves on national TV (although that would've been really great).
There was just this.
All laughs. It's hard to pick up a lot of it in the main clip above, but it sounds like Bellinger says, "I'm sorry, baby ... I would have been so mad if you did that to me."
Pretty fun to see two guys react this way after being part of such a game-changing, series-shifting play. They probably thought it was as cool as we did.
