Trea Turner Hosts Families from V Foundation for Cancer Research

On Tuesday, July 25, Phillies shortstop Trea Turner hosted his first meet and greet as a member of the team before that night’s Orioles game. Turner and his wife, Kristin, hosted families from the V Foundation for Cancer Research, an organization founded by ESPN and legendary basketball coach and broadcaster Jim Valvano.

Trea and Kristin both attended North Carolina State University, where Jim Valvano coached. The Turners were moved by his story and by his message of never giving up and wanted to support the fight against pediatric cancer. Since then, they’ve been longtime supporters of the V Foundation.

The Turners met the families and took plenty of pictures (bringing plenty of smiles), and even donated their catered suite for the group.
