Phillies Family Serves Homemade Holiday Meals at Local Homeless Shelter
The Phillies continued a 24-year holiday tradition at one of the largest homeless shelters in Philadelphia on Monday, December 11.
Guests sheltering at Bethesda Project’s Our Brother’s Place were served home-cooked holiday dinners, donated and prepared by Phillies front office volunteers and OVG employees. Additional food was donated by The GIANT Company.
Many special guests were there to help serve the food, including Phillies broadcasters Ruben Amaro, Jr., Larry Andersen, Scott Franzke and Ben Davis, 1993 National League Champion Mickey Morandini, Phillies ambassador Scott Palmer, and Executive Vice President Dave Buck.
Phanta Claus also made an appearance to help bring the holiday spirit!
Guests also received backpacks filled with personal care items donated by employees from SEI, and were also given Phillies swag including caps, t-shirts and water bottles.
The event was part of the Phillies Season of Giving presented by SEI, a month-long initiative to pay it forward and celebrate the holiday season with various charitable events.
