Kyle Schwarber Hosts Neighborhood Heroes During Phillies Batting Practice

July 26, 2023

On Monday, July 24, Phillies outfielder Kyle Schwarber hosted the Philadelphia Police Foundation as part of his community ticket program, Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes, which recognizes first responders for their devotion to their communities.

Schwarber and his wife, Paige, held a meet and greet with members of the foundation, took pictures and signed autographs as the Phillies took batting practice on the field before that night’s game against the Orioles. The group was also invited to walk out onto the warning track and watch some of their favorite players take swings on the field.

Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes was founded in 2017 when the slugger was playing with the Cubs. Schwarber is the son of a decorated police officer and has many other first responders in his family. He has said himself that if he were not a baseball player, he would probably be a firefighter, police officer, or in the military.

The event was also part of the Phillies Summer of Giving presented by The GIANT Company.
