Read our FAQ on this year’s revamped balloting format, which includes two phases of fan voting to determine the All-Star starters, and the ability to vote through Google Search.

CINCINNATI – Reds third baseman made his National League All-Star debut in 2018, and he has followed with signs he could complete an even better season.

Suarez was among eight Cincinnati players fans can select on the 2019 Google MLB All-Star Ballot, which opened for voting Tuesday afternoon.

“That was a really good honor for me. I would be so happy if I made the All-Star team again this year, too,” said Suarez, who hit 34 home runs with 104 RBIs last season. “I don’t know if it will happen, but I am still working hard, and we’ll see what happens.

“It would be nice if I made the All-Star team back-to-back years. It would be great for my career.”

The other Reds on the ballot are first baseman and six-time All-Star Joey Votto, shortstop Jose Iglesias, catcher Tucker Barnhart and outfielders Jesse Winker, Nick Senzel and 2014 All-Star Yasiel Puig. Jose Peraza is listed among second basemen despite no longer being the regular at that position. It's possible to submit a write-in vote for Derek Dietrich, who has taken most of the at-bats over Peraza.

In 2018, Cincinnati was represented by Suarez, Votto and second baseman Scooter Gennett, who has been out since Spring Training because of a right groin injury.

Fans may vote in "The Primary" at MLB.com, all 30 club sites and the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark mobile apps up to five times in any 24-hour period. Primary voting ends at 4 p.m. ET on Friday, June 21.

The top three vote-getters at each position (including nine outfielders) per league will move on to "The Starters Election," which begins at noon ET on Wednesday, June 26. The votes will reset for a 28-hour voting window that ends at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 27. Starters for the 2019 Midsummer Classic will be unveiled on ESPN that night at 7 ET.
