CLEVELAND -- Erick Fedde allowed one run over six innings and the White Sox offense scored four in the fourth off Gavin Williams to claim an 8-2 victory over the Guardians in front of a packed house of 37,151 Wednesday night, representing the largest crowd of the season at Progressive Field.

Fedde struck out three, walked three and recorded seven outs via the ground ball among his 91 pitches. His ERA dropped to 3.13, as the right-hander only increased his value with the July 30 Trade Deadline approaching.

Lenyn Sosa topped the offense with three hits and one RBI, while Andrew Benintendi drove in two with a double to left during that four-run rally. Luis Robert Jr. had two hits, two runs scored and a diving catch in right-center against David Fry to help shut down the possibility of a big Cleveland inning in the third.

Martín Maldonado added a run-scoring single in the fourth, with an exit velocity of 107.7 mph, according to Statcast. It was his hardest hit of the season based on exit velocity and just his seventh hit above 100 mph, with Maldonado’s first RBI since June 11. He added a two-run homer in the eighth, marking his second multi-hit game this season.
