El Alfa drops music video for the 'Soto Shuffle' just in time for postseason

There may not be a more terrifying sight for a pitcher than when Juan Soto gets into the box and stares down those 60 feet 6 inches while shuffling into his position at the plate. Now, there's even a theme song for the moment: "The Soto Shuffle" from dembow superstar El Alfa and Foreign Teck.

Arriving just in time for the Yankees' American League Division Series matchup against the Royals beginning on Saturday, the song should get any Yankees fan pumped up for the postseason. There's even a call and response portion of the track.

The duo behind the track are bona-fide baseball fans, with El Alfa meeting up with the Nationals' Nasim Nuñez on the night the singer was getting a bobblehead from the Red Sox and Foreign Teck dropping a music video featuring Mets stars Francisco Lindor and Edwin Díaz earlier this year.

"MLB has always been on my mind," El Alfa told Yonder Alonso, who also translated, on MLB Network last week. "I'm a huge fan of the game. My No. 1 player is Juan Soto. That's the reason the 'Shuffle' came around. This is what I love: I love the game of baseball; I watch every night. There's nothing better than to give back to my people and my roots."

Soto, who has walked up to El Alfa songs in previous years, sat down and met the musician for the first time in 2020, with the two even joining together to play "The Newlybros" game together. Who could have foreseen that just a few years later he would have his very own track to score the postseason run?
