DENVER -- The Rockies have reached an agreement with catcher Drew Romo of The Woodlands (Texas) High School, the team announced on Wednesday. The deal is worth $2,095,800 -- full value for the 35th overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft -- according to MLB.com’s Jim Callis.

The agreement with Romo, who had committed to LSU before being selected in Competitive Balance Round A, means the Rockies have reached deals with all six of their Draft picks.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Romo is a switch-hitter and has highly rated defensive attributes. In addition to solid competition in Texas, Romo has been the starting catcher on the U.S. 18-and-under national team the past two years. He has earned high marks for his defensive fundamentals and higher marks for his abilities to usher pitchers through games.

Romo, according to the MLB.com Draft Prospects scouting report, has a better swing from the left side and is improving from the right. The Rockies believe they can develop him into a solid Major League hitter.

The Rockies previously reached deals with their five other Draft picks:

• First-rounder (ninth overall) Zac Veen, an outfielder from Port Orange (Fla.) Spruce Creek High School ($5 million)
• Second-rounder (46th overall) Chris McMahon, a right-handed pitcher from the University of Miami ($1.637,400)
• Third-rounder (81st overall) Sam Weatherly, a left-handed pitcher from Clemson University ($775,300)
• Fourth-rounder (110th overall) Case Williams, a right-handed pitcher from Castle Rock (Colo.) Douglas County High School ($450,000)
• Fifth-rounder Jack Blomgren, a shortstop from the University of Michigan ($394,000)
