RHP/DH (elbow surgery)
Expected return:
2025 (as a pitcher)
Ohtani has been making steady progress with his throwing over the past several months, but he will not advance to pitching off a mound against live hitters any time soon.

“We don’t anticipate him pitching in the postseason," general manager Brandon Gomes said on Oct. 2. (Last updated: Oct. 5)

10-day/15-day injured list

LHP (bone spur in left big toe)
Expected return: Out for season
Kershaw and the Dodgers were hoping the left-hander would be ready to return at some point during the postseason, but that won’t be the case. He hasn't appeared in a game since Aug. 30. (Last updated: Oct. 5)

RHP (right shoulder inflammation)
Expected return:
Maybe sometime in the postseason
Graterol landed on the injured list for the third time this season and the second time because of right shoulder inflammation on Sept. 26. The right-hander has been dealing with the injury since Spring Training, which delayed his season debut until Aug. 6. Graterol has been managing the issue, according to manager Dave Roberts, but additional testing revealed that there’s something going on with his shoulder. (Last updated: Sept. 26)

RHP (cracked right middle fingernail)
Expected return:
TBD
It was a surprise injury for Honeywell and it’s unclear since when or for how long the right-hander has dealt with the issue. Honeywell has fared well as a multi-inning option out of the Dodgers’ bullpen. (Last updated: Sept. 26)

60-day IL

RHP (Tommy John surgery)
Expected return: Possibly the postseason
Gonsolin made his third rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sept. 21 and it was his best one yet. The right-hander tossed three hitless innings and struck out six, needing just 45 pitches to get through the outing. He could be an option for Los Angeles in the postseason, though he was not on the National League Division Series roster. (Last updated: Oct. 5)

RHP (right shoulder inflammation)
Expected return:
Likely 2025
Stone, who hasn’t picked up a baseball since experiencing right shoulder inflammation on Sept. 6, was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Sept. 24, officially ending his impressive rookie season.

For Stone and the Dodgers, it’s a disappointment to not get the right-hander back on the mound this season, but they expect him back fully healthy for the start of the 2025 campaign. (Last updated: Sept. 24)

RHP (right elbow tendinitis)
Expected return:
2025
After not going through with a simulated game on Sept. 13 due to right elbow discomfort as he warmed up in the bullpen, Glasnow got additional scans to determine the severity of the injury. Those scans revealed a “sprained elbow,” manager Dave Roberts said on Sept. 14. Glasnow, who was transferred to the 60-day IL on Sept. 18, has been shut down from throwing for the foreseeable future, ending his season much sooner than the right-hander and the Dodgers were hoping.

On Sept. 20, Glasnow shared that he doesn't expect to need surgery, but the elbow will require continued monitoring and reimaging before he can resume throwing. (Last updated: Sept. 20)

RHP (right plantar fasciitis)
Expected return:
TBD
Brogdon, who was acquired from the Phillies on April 6, has been sidelined since April 10 and was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 19. He began a rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Aug. 17, throwing a scoreless inning. He moved to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Aug. 20. (Last updated: Sept. 20)

Ryan had successful Tommy John surgery after suffering a UCL strain during his Aug. 11 start against the Pirates. After multiple scans, the Dodgers determined he needed Tommy John surgery. The 26-year-old rookie right-hander went 1-0 with a 1.33 ERA in four starts before suffering his season-ending injury. (Last updated: Aug. 25)

RHP (right flexor tendon surgery; esophagus)
Expected return: 2025
May underwent surgery to repair his esophagus and stomach on July 10 after reporting pain in those areas after dinner that day.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said on July 14 that he “was shocked” by the news, noting May was in Arizona.

“Soreness of the throat and the stomach, and goes to the ER and gets surgery,” said Roberts. “He gets surgery, and he’s done for the year. Obviously, him coming back, if everything was great, was still a longer shot. But how his season ended is very unfortunate. I’m just glad he’s OK.”

May underwent right elbow surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles to repair his flexor tendon July 18, 2023. It was his second major elbow surgery in the past three seasons, and the Dodgers placed him on the 60-day injured list to begin the 2024 season. Read more >> (Last updated: July 14)
