Koufax returns to spot where he was hit by liner
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Sandy Koufax isn't gun-shy.
One day after being struck on the forehead by a batting-practice line drive while he watched a bullpen session, Koufax was back in the very same spot watching Zack Greinke warm up.
Koufax said he would pay a little closer attention to the hitters. Just in case, this time the Dodgers stationed bullpen catcher Rob Flippo a few yards in front of the legendary Hall of Famer.
Koufax said the Dodgers cap he was wearing took some of the impact and might have prevented a more serious injury.
The inside rim of the cap was blood stained from the cut on his forehead, which took on the discolored look of a bad bruise.
Manager Don Mattingly said Koufax planned to leave camp Sunday.
