Just missed Top 30: Jimmie Sherfy, RHP
Sherfy, 27, has pitched well during parts of two seasons in the big leagues, posting a 1.00 ERA with 26 strikeouts and a .144 BAA in 27 innings. Though he doesn’t throw as hard as he did when he first came up, Sherfy fits well in a seventh-inning role with his ability to get results with a riding, low- to mid-90s fastball with a sweeping breaking ball in the upper 70s.

Impact prospect: Taylor Widener
Acquired last offseason in the Brandon Drury deal, Widener dominated the Double-A Southern League in his first season with the organization, leading the circuit in strikeouts (176) and WHIP (1.03) and finishing second in ERA (2.75). The 24-year-old righty was equally impressive this spring, tossing seven scoreless frames across three outings, and could be the first starter called up to fill a hole in Arizona’s rotation.

Breakout prospect: Kristian Robinson
A Bahamian outfielder whom the D-backs signed for $2.5 million in 2017, Robinson has an exciting package of tools headlined by massive raw power that could soon make him one of the more revered sluggers in the Minors. He also has plus speed, arm strength to match and a chance to stick in center field. He batted .279/.363/.428 with seven homers and 12 steals between two Rookie leagues as a 17-year-old making his pro debut last summer.

Best defensive prospect: Geraldo Perdomo
Perdomo's United States debut in 2018 was solid all-around, and he even earned a promotion from the Arizona Rookie League to the Pioneer League in the process. Tall and rangy, the teenager has shown the tools to stay at shortstop long term with outstanding range, actions and hands to go with a strong arm.
