SAN FRANCISCO -- D-backs third baseman Jake Lamb finished fourth in the voting for the 2016 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote, but he was still plenty thankful Friday.
"It was cool all the fans reaching out and supporting me, whether it was social media or text messages and all my friends and family back home," Lamb said. "It was really cool to see the last few days."
San Francisco's Brandon Belt finished first in the voting, followed by Pittsburgh's Starling Marte and Colorado's Trevor Story. Milwaukee's Ryan Braun was fifth.

All-Star Game coverage begins Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. MST on FOX. The D-backs will be represented by first baseman Paul Goldschmidt in San Diego.
Lamb appreciated the support of his teammates, who all wore Vote Lamb shirts during batting practice Wednesday and on the team's charter flight to San Francisco that night.
Perhaps the most surprising form of support for Lamb came when Goldschmidt joined Twitter to campaign for him.
"It's probably the biggest accomplishment in my career," Lamb said. "It will be the biggest accomplishment because I know how much he's against social media."
Goldschmidt's aversion to social media is well known, but what is less understood is the reason he stays away from it.
"Part of my reason for not being on social media is hopefully to inspire some kids or some people to get off the internet and go out there and play baseball or football, or play with their friends and get off their devices," Goldschmidt said. "I'm on mine plenty, but I try to make it a point to put my phone away as much as I can."
