PHOENIX -- The D-backs activated left-handed reliever Jorge De La Rosa from the 10-day disabled list Thursday and optioned right-hander Silvino Bracho to Triple-A Reno.
De La Rosa had been on the DL since suffering right Achilles tendon bursitis during his June 1 outing against the Marlins.
Bracho has pitched well in multiple stints with the D-backs, going 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA in 11 games.
While Bracho's performance did not warrant the demotion, the fact that he had Minor League options remaining made him vulnerable. That's been the case for him the past few seasons with the D-backs.
"Those are hard conversations," D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said of telling Bracho he was going back to Reno. "I told him the truth. I told him he's been throwing the ball exceptionally well and he needs to continue doing that and clear his head and get through his frustration and continue to be a guy that's going to be ready to do what he's doing every single time he comes up here. And one day we're going to be making moves to keep him here on this roster."

Injury Updates
Outfielder Steven Souza Jr. (right pectoral strain) took a day off from throwing, but did take batting practice. He is expected to play catch again Friday.
Left-hander Robbie Ray (strained right oblique) was scheduled to throw 50 pitches for Class A Advanced Visalia on Thursday.
Right-hander Randall Delgado, who had been shut down with arm fatigue, was scheduled to throw two innings for Reno on Thursday.
