November 27th, 2020
Right-handed pitcher Cy Sneed is in agreement on a two-year deal with the Yakult Swallows of Nippon Professional Baseball’s Central League, according to a report from MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal.
In two seasons with the Astros from 2019-20, Sneed had a 5.59 ERA in 26 appearances over 38 2/3 innings. Sneed made 18 of those appearances in '20, when he had a 5.71 ERA.
Sneed was drafted by the Rangers in the 35th round of the 2011 Draft, but he decided to attend Dallas Baptist University instead. The Brewers drafted him in the third round in '14, and traded him to the Astros in November '15 for Jonathan Villar.
