February 20th, 2023

LUBBOCK, Texas – The LSU got off to a fantastic start to the season with a sweep of Western Michigan, and in doing so maintains its position atop the College Baseball Hall of Fame Power Poll.

The Tigers (3-0) garnered all first-place votes in this week’s poll. Behind them, however, there was plenty of movement.

Stanford, after taking two of three at Cal-State Fullerton over the weekend, moves up to No. 2 while defending champion Ole Miss surges into the No. 3 spot after a sweep of Delaware. Rounding out the top five are No. 4 Texas A&M, which swept Seattle, and No. 5 Arkansas, which is down a spot after going 2-1 in the College Baseball Showdown at Globe Life Field.

This week’s biggest movers are a pair of Big 12 teams. Texas Tech, No. 14 in the preseason poll, jumps to No. 6 after taking the first three in a four-game series against Gonzaga. TCU, which had an impressive showing at Globe Life Field despite falling in the last game, also is up eight spots from No. 18 to No. 10.

The rest of the Top 10 is composed of No. 7 Wake Forest (4-0), No. 8 Tennessee (1-2), which falls from No. 2 after two tough losses in Arizona, and No. 9 Florida (3-0).

One team makes its debut in this week’s poll. Georgia makes the cut at No. 24 after going 2-1 against Jacksonville State.

Auburn (2-1) and North Carolina State (3-0) fall out of the poll this week.

Dropped out: Auburn, North Carolina State
Also receiving votes: Georgia Tech 6, Dallas Baptist 6, Auburn 4, North Carolina State 4, South Carolina 3, Iowa 1.
