Tennessee remains in No. 1 spot in final regular season Hall of Fame Power Poll
LUBBOCK, Texas – Let the playoffs begin!
With conference tournaments getting underway for most college baseball conferences, the Tennessee Volunteers head into the postseason as the unanimous No. 1 team in the country in the final National College Baseball Hall of Fame Power Poll for the regular season. The final poll of the year will be released after the College World Series.
Tennessee goes into the SEC tournament with an impressive 49-7 record and coming off a three-game sweep of defending NCAA champion Mississippi State. It is the sixth time in the last seven weeks the Vols have been ranked No. 1.
There is a shakeup below them, however. Stanford, after a Pac-12 sweep of Southern California, ascends to No. 2 while Oregon State drops one spot to No. 3 after losing two of three Pac-12 games against UCLA. Virginia Tech takes over at No. 4 on the heels of a sweep of Duke in ACC play, and Texas A&M is in at No. 5 thanks to an SEC series win over Ole Miss.
Rounding out the Top 10 are No. 6 Louisville, Notre Dame and Oklahoma State tied at No. 7, No. 9 Texas Tech and No. 10 Miami.
