Braves attracting interest with Inciarte
Atlanta could shop newly acquired outfielder to add young starting pitching
Despite being one of the most active teams so far this offseason, the Braves continue to draw interest from other clubs.
One of the biggest questions floating around Major League Baseball is whether the Braves will try to flip recently acquired outfielder Ender Inciarte, who was part of the Shelby Miller trade.
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Cubs are one of a number of teams who have contacted Atlanta about the 25-year-old Inciarte, who hit .303/.338/.408 with 21 stolen bases while playing all three outfield positions last season and is under club control until 2021.
Two of the Cubs' biggest trade pieces are right fielder Jorge Soler and infielder Javier Baez, but the Cubs' farm system is stacked. One scout told Rosenthal he viewed third baseman Jeimer Candelario (the Cubs' 20th-best prospect, per MLBPipeline.com) as the best hitter in the Arizona Fall League.
The Braves, however, are reportedly looking to add more young starting pitching if they do decide to shop Inciarte.
