A big NYC music festival will be at Citi Field
Carly Rae Jepsen will be back near a baseball mound
Citi Field is already a fun place to go in the summer -- you can see a Polar Bear crush home runs, you can watch the greatest pitcher in the world make big leaguers look like Little Leaguers, you can bask in the eternal optimism of the smiliest person in New York City.
And now, at least this year, you can hear some of the greatest musicians in the world. NYC's Governor's Ball has moved its host site to the ballpark in Queens for late September. The demo video seems to show that most of the festival will take place outside the stadium, with the House that David Wright Built serving as a nice, summertime backdrop.
The lineup is also great -- headliners include Billie Eilish, A$AP Rocky and Post Malone -- and there is one performer who has a fairly famous (well, infamous) connection with baseball: Carly Rae Jepsen will perform on Day 3. We're not sure if this is her first time in a ballpark since her visit to Tropicana Field in July 2013, but let's hope she fares a bit better than that day ...
