June 30: Padres 7, Reds 5 (6 inn.) -- An even 1,000 for Votto
Joey Votto reached 1,000 career RBIs. Since runs batted in became an official stat, only five players have collected 1,000 with the Reds: Johnny Bench (1,376), Tony Perez (1,192), Pete Rose (1,036), Frank Robinson (1,009) and Votto.

June 29: Padres 5, Reds 4 -- All hands on deck
The 16 combined pitchers sent out by both clubs Tuesday night were the most used in a nine-inning game in Reds history. Each club leaned on eight pitchers, with the Reds calling on the bullpen in relief of Tony Santillan in the fourth inning. San Diego was pressed into a bullpen game from the get-go, after scheduled starter Blake Snell was scratched due to illness.

June 28: Reds 12, Phillies 4 -- Castellanos reaches century mark
Nick Castellanos' three hits on Monday gave him 100 for the season in his 72nd game. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it's the fastest a Reds hitter has reached 100 hits since 1999, when Sean Casey reached that mark in his 67th game of the season.

June 27: Braves 4, Reds 0 -- 'Pen moving in right direction
The Reds' bullpen has a Major League-worst 5.55 ERA this season. But in the four-game series split with Atlanta, the group allowed three runs (two earned) over 11 innings for a 1.64 ERA.

June 26: Reds 4, Braves 1 -- Stephenson, good in a pinch
Tyler Stephenson led off the eighth inning against Braves reliever Edgar Santana with a pinch-hit home run to center field. That gave the rookie Stephenson three pinch-hit homers for his career -- including two in 2021.

June 25: Braves 3, Reds 2 -- Votto leaves ducks on the pond
For just the second time in his career, Joey Votto went 0-for-4 in a game with runners in scoring position. The only other time it happened was on Aug. 15, 2018, vs. Cleveland.

June 24: Reds 5, Braves 3 -- Brach finishes off familiar foe
With no specific roles in the Reds' bullpen, it's never set in stone who manager David Bell will go with to close out a game. Against the Braves, it was Brad Brach's turn. With a man on second and two outs in the top of the ninth, Brach struck out Austin Riley to finish off the win and earn the save. It was Brach's first save since Sept. 6, 2018 -- when he was still pitching for Atlanta.

June 22: Reds 10, Twins 7 -- Miley delivers much-needed length
Wade Miley pitched seven innings for the third straight start in a no-decision vs. the Twins. It's the third time in his career that he has put together such a streak, and the first since Aug. 6-18, 2013, with Arizona. The veteran lefty is 6-4 with a 2.85 ERA in 13 starts and has a 1.96 ERA over his past six starts.

June 21: Twins 7, Reds 5 (12 innings) -- Cincy arms total nine
The Reds used nine pitchers in the opener of a two-game Interleague series at Target Field, their most since also using nine pitchers on Oct. 1, 2010, vs. Milwaukee.

June 20: Padres 3, Reds 2 -- Cincy glad to depart San Diego
The Reds were handed their first series sweep at the hands of the Padres since June 12-14, 2017, which also came at Petco Park. Prior to Sunday, San Diego had never swept Cincinnati in a four-game series. Since it opened in 2004, the Reds are 22-33 at Petco Park.

June 19: Padres 7, Reds 5 -- Who's on first? Probably Winker
With two hits, including an RBI double in the first inning, Jesse Winker has reached safely in each of his last 16 games and has a seven-game hitting streak. During the last 16 games, Winker is batting .355 with four homers, four doubles and 14 RBIs. He also tied his career-high with his 43rd RBI of the season.

June 18: Padres 8, Reds 2 -- Winker drives in another
With his RBI single in the top of the second inning, Jesse Winker tied Tyler Naquin for the team lead with 42 RBIs this season. Winker, who has played in 61 of the Reds’ 68 games, needs only one more RBI to equal his career high of 43 over 89 games in 2018.

June 17: Padres 6, Reds 4 -- Rare tying, walk-off homers
San Diego’s Eric Hosmer had a game-tying home run in the ninth inning, and Victor Caratini followed two batters later with a walk-off homer. The last time the Reds gave up game-tying and walk-off homers in the same inning was when the Phillies' Erik Kratz and Freddy Galvis went back to back off Aroldis Chapman on May 19, 2013.

June 16: Reds 2, Brewers 1 -- Mahle's winning streak
Tyler Mahle tossed six frames, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out 12. The victory marked the fifth consecutive start that Mahle has earned the winning decision, making him the first Reds pitcher to complete the feat since Johnny Cueto in 2014.

June 15: Reds 2, Brewers 1 (10 innings) -- Who needs hits anyway?
The Reds picked up just two hits in 10 innings against the Brewers but still earned the 2-1 win at American Family Field. It's their Major League-leading eighth win in extras this season, but it also places Cincinnati on a shortlist of historic extra-inning winners. The Reds' win marks just the 18th time since at least 1901 that a team has won in extras with just two hits, and it's the second time Cincinnati has ever accomplished the feat. The only other instance came in the famed "double no-hitter" game vs. the Cubs between Fred Toney and Hippo Vaughn on May 2, 1917, when both starters carried no-hitters into extras.

June 14: Reds 10, Brewers 2 -- Votto logs RBI in 6th straight
Joey Votto grounded out in the top of the first, but with the bases loaded and just one out at the time, Votto managed to drive in Jesse Winker to put the Reds up, 1-0. In doing so, Votto matched a career-long streak as he drove in a run for the sixth straight game. Votto has done that two other times in his 15 years in the big leagues -- August 2010 and September 2018.

June 13: Reds 6, Rockies 2 -- How sweep it is
The three-game sweep at Great American Ball Park was the Reds' first against the Rockies at home since July 13-16, 2006.

June 12: Reds 10, Rockies 3 -- Votto continues historic ascent
With a two-run single to right field in the third inning, Joey Votto collected career hit No. 1,935, which moved him past Hall of Famer Tony Perez for fifth on the Reds' all-time list. Next up is Johnny Bench, who is fourth with 2,048 career hits.

June 11: Reds 11, Rockies 5 -- Reds mash HRs early, often
The Reds became the eighth team in Major League history to homer at least once in each of the first five innings of a game. They were also the third team ever to have a different player hit a homer in each of the first five innings, joining the A's (Sept. 9, 2000) and Cardinals (July 27, 2012). The last time the Reds hit homers in five consecutive innings was April 21, 2015, when they did it from the third through seventh innings of a 16-10 win at Milwaukee.

June 10: Brewers 7, Reds 2 -- Winker's RBIs consistently clutch
Jesse Winker hit an RBI single for a 2-1 Reds lead in the fifth inning. That gave Winker 14 go-ahead RBIs in 2021, giving him sole possession of the National League lead. Kyle Seager of the Mariners leads the Major Leagues with 15.

June 9: Reds 7, Brewers 3 -- Castellanos in elite Reds company
Nick Castellanos notched a two-run double in the second inning. By doing so, he became the first Reds player to collect 20 doubles over a 54-game span since both Jay Bruce and Todd Frazier did so in 2015.

June 8: Brewers 5, Reds 1 -- Gray compiles Crew whiffs
Sonny Gray said he felt that he was in a good spot before he was pulled after the third inning with right groin tightness. How good was he against the Brewers? Looking at how many bats he missed through three innings, he was nearly the best he's been this year.

According to Statcast, Gray had eight whiffs on 21 swings Tuesday night. That 38.1 percent whiff-rate is his second-highest mark all season, and considering he was at just 50 pitches, he would've had a shot to match the 15 total whiffs he recorded on April 28 against the Dodgers. Whiff rates on three of his pitches (four-seamer, sinker and slider) also surpassed his season averages.

June 6: Reds 8, Cardinals 7 -- Winker his own Big Red Machine
For the first time in Reds history, a batter -- Jesse Winker -- notched a second three-homer game in the same season. But Winker fell short of the Reds’ single-game record of four home runs by Scooter Gennett, which coincidentally happened exactly four years ago against the Cardinals on June 6, 2017, at Great American Ball Park. It was also the only other time in the career of Cardinals pitcher John Gant that he has given up multiple homers to a player in a game.

June 5: Reds 5, Cardinals 2 -- Red hot on the road
The Reds have not won three games in a row at Busch Stadium since 2006, the year the ballpark opened. They will be going for a four-game series sweep, something they have not achieved in St. Louis since 1990.

June 4: Reds 6, Cardinals 4 -- The streak lives on
With a double to the right-field wall in the top of the seventh inning, Nick Castellanos extended his career-high hitting streak to 20 games. It is the longest hitting streak for a Reds player since Brandon Phillips hit safely in 22 consecutive games from April 26-May 20, 2007.

June 3: Reds 4, Cardinals 2 -- Gutierrez achieves rare feat
Vladimir Gutierrez pitched five innings and notched the first win of his big league career in just his second start. The last time a Cuban-born rookie won a start for Cincinnati was Raisel Iglesias on Aug. 12, 2015, at San Diego.

June 1: Phillies 17, Reds 3 -- Castellanos keeps on streaking
Nick Castellanos extended his hitting streak to 18 games with a single to left field in the third inning and he later added a double to right field in the bottom of the sixth inning -- both were against Aaron Nola. It broke his career-high 17-game hit streak he set with the Tigers in 2017. It's also the longest hitting streak in the Major Leagues this season, passing the 17-game streak held by Jose Altuve of the Astros from May 5-23.
