Chris Conroy appointed to Umpiring Staff

Major League Baseball announced today that Chris Conroy has been named to the full-time Major League Umpiring staff.

Conroy, a professional umpire since the 2000 season, has worked at the Triple-A level since 2006.   The 38-year-old has been assigned to Major League Spring Training games since 2009, and he has worked 267 regular season games as a call-up umpire since his Major League debut on September 29, 2010. The Massachusetts native has umpired in the New York-Penn League (Single-A), the South Atlantic League (Single-A), the Carolina League (Single-A), the Eastern League (Double-A), the Pacific Coast League (Triple-A) and the International League (Triple-A). Conroy is also a product of the Arizona Fall League (2007, 2009-2010).

Conroy replaces Brian Runge, who is no longer on the umpiring staff.
