One Caribbean Series team remained undefeated and one remained winless at the end of Day 4 of the tournament on Sunday.

Here’s a recap of all the action from loanDepot Park in Miami:

Puerto Rico 6, Venezuela 2

The Criollos de Caguas improved to 3-1 in the tournament by handing Venezuela (2-1) its first loss of the series. Puerto Rico was in control from the beginning of this contest, scoring two runs in the first inning and single runs in the second, fourth, fifth and eighth.

J.C. Escarra, Nelson Velázquez and Emmanuel Rivera each had two hits, and despite walking eight batters in the game, Puerto Rico’s pitching staff worked around traffic all evening to limit Venezuela to one run in the fourth and one in the seventh.

Panama 6, Nicaragua 3

A four-run sixth inning for Panama proved to be the difference in this game, and all four runs scored on a single play when Allen Cordoba delivered a bases-loaded triple and then himself scored on a throwing error.

Panama’s two other runs came courtesy of a fifth-inning RBI single by Iván Herrera and a Rubén Tejada RBI single in the ninth. Emmanuel García continued his hot hitting in the series by going 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Nicaragua.

With the victory, Panama improved to 3-0 and dropped Nicaragua to 0-3 for the tournament.

Mexico 9, Dominican Republic 1

Mexico (1-3) got into the win column for the first time in the tournament, giving up a run to the DR in the first inning but never looking back after that.

Robinson Canó got the Dominican Republic (2-2) on the board with a sacrifice fly in the opening frame, but that’s all the DR would get. Left-hander Jeff Kinley started for Mexico and threw six strong innings, yielding just the first-inning run while scattering six hits and striking out one.

Meanwhile, his lineup gave him more than enough support. Aaron Altherr hit a three-run double to center field as part of a four-run third inning. Agustin Murillo then belted a solo homer in the sixth and Julian Ornelas capped the scoring with a two-run double in the ninth.
