Cardinals name Adam Olsen head athletic trainer
The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they have promoted Adam Olsen to the position of Head Athletic Trainer where he will oversee and manage the team's day-to-day operation of the training room as well as assist in the overall development of the Cardinals global medical vision.
Olsen, 38, who has spent the past six seasons serving as the Cardinals Assistant Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist, has been a member of the team's medical staff for the past 10 seasons.
A native of Green Bay, Wisc., Olsen graduated from Auburn University where he earned his Athletic Training Certification. Olsen also holds a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin and following graduation he completed a post-professional Sports Physical Therapy Fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute under Dr. James Andrews and Kevin Wilk in Birmingham, Ala.
Olsen and his wife, Amy, and their daughters, Annabelle and Piper, make their home in St. Louis.
