ATLANTA -- For the second time this season, the Cardinals and Braves had a game postponed by rain.

Their June 25 game at Busch Stadium was rained out, prompting a split doubleheader a day later, and their Friday game at Truist Park was also postponed due to inclement weather. Friday’s game will be made up as the first of a split doubleheader on Saturday.

Saturday’s first game will be played at 1:07 p.m. ET/12:07 p.m. CT, and the second game will be played at the originally scheduled time of 7:20 p.m. ET/6:20 p.m. CT.

• Braves rainout policy

For the Braves, right-hander Charlie Morton will take the mound in the first game, while Spencer Schwellenbach -- who was scheduled to start on Friday -- will now start Sunday’s series finale. Bryce Elder will start the second game Saturday.

The Cardinals will start veteran right-hander Kyle Gibson in Saturday’s first game, while Sonny Gray -- Friday’s planned starter -- will start Game 2. Miles Mikolas will still start Sunday’s game. Andre Pallante and Lance Lynn are scheduled to start Monday and Tuesday, respectively, in Pittsburgh against the Pirates.

The Cardinals have been hit particularly hard by rainouts lately. This will be their third doubleheader this month, after facing the Royals and Cubs in twin bills last week. Both teams will be able to promote a 27th player -- most likely a relief pitcher for the Cards -- for Game 2 of the doubleheader. Kyle Leahy was the pitcher promoted last Saturday when the Cardinals faced the Cubs in a doubleheader.
