Braves-Tigers PPD; will play straight DH Weds.

DETROIT -- Inclement weather in the area first delayed Tuesday’s game against the Tigers at Comerica Park and then postponed it until Wednesday.

The Braves and Tigers will now play the final two games of the series as a straight doubleheader, with first pitch of Game 1 set for 1:10 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Game 2 will start approximately 45 minutes following the final out of Game 1.

, who would have started Tuesday’s game, will get the nod for the first contest, looking to bounce back after allowing eight runs over four innings last time out. The starter for the nightcap has yet to be announced.

A rainstorm first swept the Detroit area around 4 p.m. The skies cleared momentarily before the rain returned, a pattern that repeated over the next five hours until the game was officially postponed.
