Soroka, Acuna selected for Futures Game
SAN DIEGO -- Ronald Acuna and Mike Soroka have excelled as two of the youngest players in the Southern League this season. They will now be rewarded as the Braves' representatives at this year's SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, featuring many of baseball's top prospects.
Acuna and Soroka will be part of the World Team for the Futures Game, which takes place at 4 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 9, as part of All-Star week's festivities, and may be viewed live on MLB Network and MLB.com.
Soroka's stock has soared since he was taken with the 28th overall selection in the 2015 Draft. The 19-year-old Canadian continued to excel after the Braves opted to have him skip the Class A Advanced level to begin this season. He has produced a 2.18 ERA as he has recorded 77 strikeouts and issued 17 walks through 82 2/3 innings (14 starts) for Double-A Mississippi.

MLBPipeline.com ranks Soroka as the Braves' No. 4 prospect and the 65th-best prospect in all of baseball.
Braves fans have been closely monitoring the progress of Acuna, who drew comparisons to Andruw Jones even before he had some success playing in some Grapefruit League games this year. The 19-year-old native of Panama has continued to flourish since being promoted from Class A Advanced Florida to Mississippi in early May.
Acuna has hit .316, tallied five home runs, recorded 16 stolen bases and constructed a .841 OPS through his first 45 games with Mississippi. He ranks as the Braves' No. 7 prospect per MLBPipeline. There is a chance he will reach the Majors at some point next season.
