Braden Montgomery, who was projected to go fourth overall in the latest MLB Pipeline mock draft, exited Texas A&M's Super Regionals game against Oregon on Saturday with an injury to his right ankle that head coach Jim Schlossnagle confirmed postgame would likely keep the star outfielder on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.

The Aggies right fielder walked in the first inning and was hurt while attempting to score from second base on a ball hit to left field. Montgomery apparently tripped while preparing to dive toward the plate and remained on the ground after being tagged out until the team's medical staff fixed an air cast to the ankle and assisted him off the playing field.

The broadcast showed Montgomery in the dugout with a medical boot on his right leg.

Montgomery, who transferred to Texas A&M as a junior for this season, currently stands as MLB's No. 8 Draft prospect. The Mississippi native boasts a 70-grade arm from the outfield and 60-grade power at the dish and had 27 homers while posting a .452 OBP in 60 games for the Aggies this year.
