June 30: Red Sox 6, Royals 2 -- Bullpen magic
Boston's bullpen has been solid for most of the season. Of late, it has been impenetrable. In the past four games, Sox relievers haven't allowed a run over 13 2/3 innings. They have a 0.39 ERA in the past seven games and a 2.02 ERA in the last 15 games. Boston relievers have stranded their last 16 inherited runners.

June 29: Red Sox 7, Royals 6 -- Bogaerts, Martinez stay hot
If it seems like Xander Bogaerts and J.D. Martinez have been on base a lot lately, that perception is based on reality. Bogaerts has reached in his last 24 games, matching Alex Verdugo (April 5 to May 6) for the longest streak by a Boston player this season. Meanwhile, Martinez, who reached four times in Tuesday's win, has been on base in his last 18 games. Bogaerts and Martinez currently hold the two longest on-base streaks in the Majors.

June 28: Red Sox 6, Royals 5 -- Taylor extends scoreless streak
With little fanfare, lefty Josh Taylor is on an amazing streak for the Red Sox. The setup man pitched a perfect eighth inning on Monday, and extended his scoreless streak to 23 consecutive appearances, the longest stretch in MLB this season. Taylor has gone 18 1/3 innings during that run, and has 10 holds and a 0.78 WHIP, while striking out 11.78 per nine innings.

June 27: Red Sox 9, Yankees 2 -- Devers HRs off 100 mph FB
It was eye-opening when Rafael Devers was able to turn around a 100.1 mph fastball by Gerrit Cole for a monster three-run homer (113.7 mph exit velocity, 451 feet) in the bottom of the first. It was the second time in Devers' career he hit a pitch of triple-digit velocity for a homer. The other was on a 102.2 mph fastball by Aroldis Chapman at Yankee Stadium on Aug. 13, 2017. Since pitch tracking started in '08, Devers and Jazz Chisholm Jr. are the only players to have two homers off pitches at 100 mph or more.

June 26: Red Sox 4, Yankees 2 -- Eovaldi owning Yankees
One thing that won't hurt Nathan Eovaldi's popularity with Boston fans is that he's been dominant against the Yankees since joining the Red Sox at the 2018 Trade Deadline. Eovaldi, who allowed one run over 7 2/3 innings in this one, has allowed one earned run or fewer in seven of his eight starts against the Bronx Bombers as a member of the Red Sox, notching a 2.08 ERA (11 earned runs in 48 innings). He is 2-0 with a 1.32 ERA against the Yankees this season.

June 25: Red Sox 5, Yankees 3 -- Whitlock a multi-inning force
The Red Sox continue to be grateful that the Yankees left Garrett Whitlock unprotected in the Rule 5 Draft. The righty continues to be stellar, especially of late. Whitlock fired two more scoreless innings on Friday. In his last 10 appearances, Whitlock has allowed one earned run over 15 2/3 innings to lower his ERA to 1.49. Whitlock has 10 scoreless appearances of two-plus innings this season, the most of any reliever in MLB.

June 24: Rays 1, Red Sox 0 -- A rare way to lose
The last time the Red Sox lost a 1-0 game in walk-off fashion? You'd have to go back to Sept. 4, 2016, when Khris Davis finished them off by that score with a double in Oakland. It was the 21st 1-0 walk-off loss in club history, but the first on a wild pitch. The last time Boston lost a game on a walk-off wild pitch was Sept. 8, 2013, when Brandon Workman uncorked one at Yankee Stadium.

June 23: Rays 8, Red Sox 2 -- Sox pitchers in slump
The Red Sox are 7-7 in their last 14 games, but they are actually fortunate to be .500 over that stretch considering the way they've pitched. In those 14 games, Boston pitchers have a 6.12 ERA. The starters have an 8.06 ERA, logging just 60 1/3 innings.

June 22: Red Sox 9, Rays 5 (11) -- Devers is Mr. Clutch
The Red Sox were fortunate enough to have Rafael Devers up with the game on the line on Tuesday night, and it should come as little surprise that the star third baseman delivered with a two-run double to the right-field corner to snap a tie in the top of the 11th inning. Devers has 23 game-tying or go-ahead hits this season, the most in the Majors.

June 20: Royals 7, Red Sox 3 -- Devers delivers in finale
The rubber match was a down Father's Day for the Sox, but Rafael Devers continued to shine. His solo home run in the eighth inning marked his 157th extra-base hit since the start of the 2019 season, which is the most in the Majors in that span. He leads the American League in runs (209) in that time, too.

June 19: Red Sox 7, Royals 1 -- J.D. hits 100th Sox homer
J.D. Martinez drilled the 100th home run of his Red Sox tenure, which served as just another reminder of how great he's been since joining the club in 2018. Martinez is now one of eight players in Sox history to hit 100+ homers and post an OPS of .900 or better, joining Ted Williams, Jimmie Foxx, Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz, Mo Vaughn, Nomar Garciaparra and Fred Lynn.

June 18: Royals 5, Red Sox 3 -- Vázquez joins 500 club
With his start behind the plate, Christian Vázquez appeared in his 500th game as a catcher for the Red Sox. He's only the ninth catcher in Red Sox history to hit the mark, joining Jason Varitek (1,488 games), Carlton Fisk (990), Sammy White (967), Rich Gedman (858), Bill Carrigan (649), Lou Criger (613), Tony Peña (539) and Rick Ferrell (514).

June 16: Red Sox 10, Braves 8 -- Rare pinch-hit grand slam
Christian Arroyo's pinch-hit grand slam was the first by a Red Sox player since Mike Carp delivered one at Tropicana Field on Sept. 11, 2013, in what was one of the most memorable hits of that championship season. Not only was it Arroyo's first career slam, but it was his first career pinch-hit homer. His 467-foot moonshot gave the Red Sox a 10-8 win following the previous night's win of the same score. It was the first time in Red Sox history they won two straight games with that score.

June 15: Red Sox 10, Braves 8 -- Devers smashes 500th hit
Rafael Devers made the 500th hit of his career a memorable one when he belted a three-run homer to center in the first inning of Boston's victory over Atlanta on Tuesday. Devers became the 10th player in Red Sox history to get his 500th hit before turning 25 years old. The three most recent? Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts and Jim Rice. Devers leads American League third basemen in homers, RBIs, extra-base hits, doubles, hits, slugging percentage and total bases.

June 14: Red Sox 2, Blue Jays 1 -- Eovaldi's hot start vs. American League East
Every game counts the same in the standings, sure, but divisional games often carry a greater significance. Nathan Eovaldi is rising to the occasion in those moments so far, as he moved to 2-1 with a 1.08 ERA (three earned runs in 25 innings) in four starts against AL East foes this season. He has faced each divisional opponent (Baltimore, Tampa Bay, New York and Toronto) once, pitching into the sixth or deeper and allowing no more than one earned run each time.

June 13: Blue Jays 18, Red Sox 4 -- Boston surrenders eight homers in game
A lot of baseballs left the yard at Fenway Park this weekend, but unfortunately for the Red Sox, they were on the throwing end of most of them. Boston yielded eight home runs to Toronto on Sunday, a franchise record. The Red Sox also gave up five on Saturday, and that 13-homer total is the most among any two-game stretch in club history. Boston had never previously allowed five-plus homers in consecutive games, though it allowed four homers in consecutive games on two occasions last year ... in the same week (Aug. 12-13 and Aug. 17-18).

June 12: Blue Jays 7, Red Sox 2 -- RISPy business
When Rafael Devers belted one down the line in right and roared into third with a triple, it was Boston's most exciting moment in the loss. Devers continues to come through when it matters most. With runners in scoring position this season, the lefty masher is hitting .338 with six doubles, a triple and six homers. He is tied with Shohei Ohtani for the American League lead in extra-base hits with 35.

June 11: Red Sox 6, Blue Jays 5 -- Arroyo red-hot in June
Though it was Alex Verdugo who got the walk-off hit in Friday's win over Toronto, Christian Arroyo helped make it possible by smashing his second game-tying homer in as many nights. Arroyo, who broke camp as Boston's 26th man, has been the team's hottest hitter in June. This month, Arroyo leads the Sox in homers (three), RBIs (10), slugging percentage (.643) and OPS (1.037). In the 12 games he's played since being reinstated from the injured list on May 25, Arroyo has a .949 OPS.

June 10: Red Sox 12, Astros 8 -- Laser show in outfield
Though Alex Verdugo went 0-for-5 as he returned following two missed games due to a sore back, he made his presence felt with his arm. In the top of the third, he fielded the carom off the Green Monster and fired a 95-mph bullet to second base to easily nail Jose Altuve. The throw came one night after Hunter Renfroe made a 98-mph toss to cut down Alex Bregman in the second-hardest outfield assist in MLB this season. The Red Sox have 18 outfield assists this season to lead MLB. Verdugo has four of them.

June 9: Astros 8, Red Sox 3 -- What slump?
Remember when Xander Bogaerts was in an 0-for-24 slump just last week, which was his longest stretch without a hit since 2014? Boston's veteran leader has gone from cold to hot in a hurry. Bogaerts extended his hitting streak to seven games by hitting a mammoth solo shot over the Green Monster. Bogaerts is 11-for-27 with seven RBIs in this run.

June 8: Astros 7, Red Sox 1 -- Boston's bullpen locked in
Though there weren't many positive developments for the Red Sox in Tuesday's loss to the Astros, Boston's bullpen continues to sizzle in June. After starter Martín Pérez lasted just two innings, the bullpen went seven frames while allowing just one run. In the first eight games of June, the bullpen has a 1.59 ERA, giving up five earned runs in 28 1/3 innings.

June 7: Red Sox 5, Marlins 3 -- Sawamura dealing
Remember when setup man Hirokazu Sawamura looked a bit inconsistent as he tried to acclimate himself to the culture of living in the United States and pitching in the Major Leagues for the first time? Those days are gone. Aside from Adam Ottavino, Sawamura appears to be developing into manager Alex Cora's highest-leverage setup man. Sawamura has allowed one earned run in his last nine appearances, covering 9 2/3 innings. For the season, he has stranded 10 of the 12 runners he has inherited.

June 5: Red Sox 7, Yankees 3 -- Renfroe stays hot
It appears Hunter Renfroe's hot May was no fluke. The outfielder continues to swing the bat well for the Red Sox. By going 2-for-4 at Yankee Stadium, Renfroe extended his hitting streak to nine games and his career-long on-base streak to 14 games. During the hitting streak, Renfroe is hitting .484 (15-for-31) with 10 runs, six doubles, two homers and four RBIs.

June 4: Red Sox 5, Yankees 2 -- Lucky 7 for Nate
By improving to 7-2 with a win in his 12th start of the season, Red Sox righty Nathan Eovaldi has one more victory than he had over 32 appearances (21 starts) the previous two years. It was Eovaldi's third consecutive win, marking the second time this season he's won three straight starts, and the fourth time in his career he's done so. Eovaldi's longest career winning streak was when he got the victory in five straight starts from May 7-29, 2016, when he was with the Yankees.

June 3: Red Sox 5, Astros 1 -- Pérez continues to own Astros
Perhaps it should come as no surprise that Martín Pérez turned in such a dominant effort against the Astros. It has been a trend. In 13 starts against Houston, Pérez is 8-4 with a 2.46 ERA. That's the lowest ERA vs. any team Pérez has made at least 10 starts against. By going 7 2/3 innings, Pérez had his longest start since he went eight against -- you guessed it -- the Astros on May 1, 2019.

June 2: Astros 2, Red Sox 1 -- Bogaerts continues to slump
Shortstop Xander Bogaerts is hitless in his last six games, and hasn't had a hit in his last 21 at-bats. How rare is this? The only other time Bogaerts went that many consecutive games without a hit was when he went seven straight as part of an 0-for-27 rut in his rookie season of 2014. Bogaerts also had another 0-for-21 rut from Aug. 13-20 of that '14 season, and this is the first time he's gone that many at-bats without a hit since then.

June 1: Astros 5, Red Sox 1 -- Starters going the distance
The Red Sox are getting good starting pitching just about every time through the rotation. Garrett Richards allowed two runs over six innings on Tuesday and became the 30th Boston pitcher in the last 33 games to go at least five innings. Overall, Boston's starters have gone five innings or more in 45 of the team's 55 games, which ranks third in the Majors behind the A's and Dodgers. The Sox also continue to keep the ball in the park. Richards extended a streak that has seen the Sox allow one homer or fewer in 36 straight games. It is the longest such streak for the Sox since a 39-game streak from June 4-July 20 of the 2010 season.
