Dalbec homers three times for Portland

May 12th, 2019

Red Sox No. 3 prospect Bobby Dalbec showed off his big power on Saturday, crushing three home runs in Double-A Portland's 12-inning, 8-7 loss to Trenton, the Yankees' Double-A affiliate.

The three homers were a career high for the 23-year-old third baseman.

Dalbec went deep in the fourth inning, the sixth inning and the 12th inning. His first homer was off Yankees No. 16 prospect Garrett Whitlock, and his third homer was off Yankees No. 23 prospect Domingo Acevedo.

Dalbec's homers were his fourth, fifth and sixth of the 2019 season. His six home runs lead the Sea Dogs.

Boston's fourth-round pick from the 2016 Draft, Dalbec had homered twice in a game four times as a pro. Three of those games came last season -- on July 10 with Class A Advanced Salem, and on Aug. 5 and 9 with Portland. The other was on Aug. 18, 2016 with Class A Short Season Lowell.
