No slide needed for D-back on inside-the-parker

When you're up by as much as the D-backs were, you can afford to run through the third-base coach's stop sign.
That's exactly what Blake Swihart did in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Pirates at Chase Field on Wednesday, when the D-backs left fielder capped Arizona's 11-1 win with a two-run inside-the-park homer -- and he didn't even have to slide at home.
With two outs and a runner on in the eighth, Swihart crushed a Chris Stratton pitch, a shot that bounced off the right-center-field wall and rolled away from Pirates center fielder Starling Marte. Swihart raced around third, turned to find where the ball was and blew through third-base coach Tony Perezchica's stop sign to score easily with his fourth homer of the year.
