Turnbull exited Wednesday's start with right shoulder soreness. He was placed on the 15-day IL Thursday with a right lat strain. Thomson said he expected Turnbull to miss six to eight weeks.

Walker is still able to throw his fastball and will continue throwing while on the IL. The length of his IL stint will depend on his ability to grip his splitter. More >

Giancarlo Stanton, Yankees

Stanton (left hamstring strain) resumed running on a treadmill on Thursday. Manager Aaron Boone said that while the veteran slugger wasn't moving "a lot," the team's medical staff would "get him moving around, regularly moving forward and hopefully get him progressing." More >

Kodai Senga and Drew Smith, Mets

Senga, who has not pitched all season due to a strained posterior capsule in his right shoulder, threw a second live batting practice session on Thursday. He threw two innings without issue. He is expected to throw a bullpen session on Sunday before beginning a Minor League rehab assignment next week.

Smith, who was placed on the 15-day IL with a right elbow sprain after having trouble getting loose during Monday's game against the Cubs, told reporters on Friday that he's likely headed for Tommy John surgery. The reliever said he has significant damage to the ligament in his elbow, but he's waiting for a second opinion before proceeding. More >

Tucker (right shin contusion) took 35 swings off a tee on Friday and ran on a treadmill. While his rehab progress hasn't been as fast as the Astros hoped, he is making progress toward returning to the lineup. More >

Adley Rutschman and Dean Kremer, Orioles

Rutschman was hit in the right hand by a foul tip during the fifth inning of Thursday's win over the Rangers. He remained in the game, homering in the seventh, but the hand was sore on Friday, and he was not in Baltimore's starting lineup. X-rays were negative.

Kremer (right triceps strain) made his third rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, throwing 75 pitches (48 strikes) over 4 1/3 innings. More >

Harris (Grade 2 left hamstring strain) has been throwing and hitting, but he has yet to resume running. There is no official timetable for his return to Atlanta's lineup, but it appears it won't be before the All-Star break.

Minter (left hip inflammation) will make a third Minor League rehab appearance before possibly being activated off the injured list. He is scheduled to pitch an inning for Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Matzek (left elbow soreness) has been throwing from 90 feet and said he is encouraged by how his arm has felt. There is still no timetable for his return, however. More >

Thairo Estrada, Wilmer Flores, Kyle Harrison and Alex Cobb, Giants

The Giants placed Estrada (left wrist sprain) and Flores (right knee tendinitis) on the 10-day IL pregame Friday.

Assad was placed on the 15-day IL on Thursday with a right forearm extensor strain. More >

Josh Jung, Rangers

Jung rejoined the big league club ahead of the series finale against the Brewers on Wednesday after having his surgically repaired right wrist examined in Texas. General manager Chris Young said Tuesday that Jung is dealing with a bit of “tendon inflammation” just above the surgical site.

“Doc said that the bone looks great. The screws aren't backing out, so that's huge,” Jung said Wednesday. “Structurally, everything's good. I’ll probably swing here in a couple days and test it out. It'll be a day-by-day thing for sure.”

Jung was scheduled to take batting practice on Friday, but that session was delayed due to continued inflammation in the wrist. Manager Bruce Bochy said Jung wouldn't take BP until Saturday at the earliest. More >

Jeimer Candelario, Reds

Candelario (mild right knee tendinitis) was given another day off Saturday to rest. More >

Max Muncy, Dodgers

Muncy (right oblique strain) is with the Dodgers on the trip to San Francisco as he begins taking some swings off a tee.
