Astros Urban Youth Academy to host free summer camps
Youth Summer Camps to Begin June 9 and Continue Through July 11
HOUSTON, TX: This summer, the Astros Urban Youth Academy will once again conduct a series of four weekly summer baseball and softball camps for kids ages 7-17 beginning on Monday, June 9 and continuing through Friday, July 11. The Astros Urban Youth Academy is located at 2801 S. Victory Drive in Houston, TX at Sylvester Turner Park.
The Academy's staff will instruct up to 100 campers each week in baseball and softball fundamentals and terminology, and will introduce them to various other aspects of the game. The campers will receive periodic motivational visits from both current and former Houston Astros players as well as other prominent individuals from the area and the baseball community.

ABOUT THE ASTROS URBAN YOUTH ACADEMY (2801 S. Victory Drive, Houston, TX 77088):
The Astros Urban Youth Academy (UYA) is run by The Astros Foundation and provides free baseball and softball instruction, life skills training and academic support to Houston youth, with a focus on serving inner-city and at-risk children and teens. Baseball and softball camps, clinics and other activities are provided by experienced instructors. UYA staff also provides mentoring, leadership development and assistance with the college application process. The UYA's doors are open year-round free of charge to youngsters age 7 to 17 from the Houston area.
