ANAHEIM -- The Angels avoided arbitration with all eight of their eligible players, including left-handers Andrew Heaney and Tyler Skaggs, ahead of Friday's deadline to exchange salary figures.
The Angels also inked infielder Thomas La Stella and right-handers JC Ramirez, Nick Tropeano, Cam Bedrosian, Hansel Robles and Luis Garcia. The Angels haven't gone to an arbitration hearing since 2011 with Jered Weaver.
Only Skaggs ($3.7 million) and Heaney ($3.4 million) surpassed the $3 million threshold, as Ramirez will earn $1.9 million, La Stella will make $1.35 million and Tropeano will be paid $1.075 million. All eight players agreed to one-year deals.

The Angels are counting on Heaney and Skaggs to lead a rotation that is also set to include free-agent additions Matt Harvey and Trevor Cahill. Jaime Barria is the front-runner for the fifth spot, but Tropeano will compete for that spot in Spring Training while Ramirez is expected to return from Tommy John surgery in June. Ramirez could come back as a starter or a reliever based on need.

La Stella, acquired from the Cubs in a trade on Nov. 29, gives the Angels depth in the middle infield and was one of the game's best pinch-hitters last year, leading the Majors in pinch-hits with 24 and was second in RBIs with 11. He doesn't offer much power, but had a combined .345 on-base percentage in his five seasons with Chicago.
Bedrosian, 27, made a career-high 71 appearances in '18, recording a 3.80 ERA with 57 strikeouts, 26 walks and seven homers allowed in 64 innings. He remains in the mix at the backend of the bullpen for high-leverage situations.
Robles, 28, was solid with the Angels after being claimed from the Mets in June, posting a 2.97 ERA with 36 strikeouts, 15 walks and two homers allowed in 36 1/3 innings. He has a career 3.90 ERA in parts of four seasons in the Majors and is expected to be counted on as a key bullpen arm in '19.
Garcia, 31, was acquired from the Phillies in a trade for lefty Jose Alvarez on Dec. 6. He's coming off a year that saw him post a 6.07 ERA in 59 appearances, but he had better peripheral stats with 51 strikeouts, 18 walks and four homers allowed in 46 innings. The Angels believe he'll bounce back in 2019, as he had a 2.65 ERA in 66 outings in '17.
