NEW YORK -- Aaron Judge robbed Orioles catcher Caleb Joseph of a go-ahead homer in the top of the 13th inning on Friday at Yankee Stadium, leaping over the right-field wall to keep the game tied.
Jonathan Holder was the beneficiary of Judge's homer-robbing catch, but an inning later, the Yankees reliever allowed a go-ahead grand slam to Pedro Alvarez as New York lost, 7-3.
"Every loss is tough. They're all tough," Judge said. "We've just got to bounce back, get ready in a couple hours and do it all over again. Win a ballgame. We've got a tough team. We're going to go out there and compete in a couple of hours."
Didi Gregorius' game-tying homer in the eighth forced extras for the Yankees, who almost walked off in the 11th on a close play at the plate. O's reliever Mychal Givens, who threw a wild pitch, showed off his athleticism by blocking Gregorius' bid to score the game-winning run.
Judge recorded his fifth RBI of the season in the third on a single off Kevin Gausman.
