Gold Glove in upper deck: A's fan catches three foul balls in ONE INNING!
Try as they might, some baseball fans go their whole lives without ever snagging a foul ball or a home run at a game.
Apparently, they need whatever lucky charm one fan at Friday night’s Brewers-A’s game clearly possesses.
Stationed in the upper deck above the infield, the young fan in a white A’s home jersey sure showed why he brought his glove to the Oakland Coliseum for Friday’s series opener.
In the top of the first inning, the slick-fielding fan moved to his right for a grab any A’s fielder would have been proud of, snaring a foul ball off the bat of Milwaukee’s Jackson Chourio.
But he wasn’t done yet. The fan tracked a foul pop from A’s star Brent Rooker straight back into his mitt in the bottom of the first -- his second snag of the contest. Two batters later, he left his feet to attempt a tremendous leaping grab of a Miguel Andujar foul ball -- and MADE THE CATCH.
That’s right: One inning. One fan. Three foul balls, all caught cleanly. That’s gotta be a record.
Not only did the fan appear more in disbelief with every great grab, but after the third one, his entire section gave him a round of applause. Perhaps the best part? The fan gave his final prize to a youngster in front of him, happy to share the wealth after an inning like no other.
