2021 Appalachian League media credential application open
Season set to begin Thursday, June 3
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The 2021 Appalachian League credential application for accredited media outlets is now open. The league’s inaugural season as a newly established collegiate summer league within the Major League Baseball (MLB) and USA Baseball Prospect Development Pipeline (PDP) is set to begin Thursday, June 3. The 54-game season will feature three two-game series per week through Saturday, Aug. 7, culminating in a one-game Appalachian League Championship on Monday, Aug. 9. The Appalachian League All-Star Game, featuring some of college baseball’s brightest stars, will take place Tuesday, July 27.
By receiving a credential, each accredited media member agrees to follow all Appalachian League COVID policies and guidelines for 2021. Credential recipients should be advised that there will be no clubhouse access for any media, and face coverings are required when on field or when interviewing players and coaches. Additionally, members of the media are encouraged to always maintain social distancing.
The 2021 Appalachian League credential will be accepted at all 10 Clubs and can be picked up at will call at your desired stadium. There is no deadline for credential applications; however, for same-day submissions, it is requested that you please submit your application at least four hours before game time.
