Ryan Zimmerman gave Nationals fans a lot to celebrate since he was selected in the first round of the 2005 MLB Draft, earning accolades as an All-Star, Gold Glove Award winner, Silver Slugger and 2019 World Series Champion.
The Nationals will honor Zimmerman and his amazing career throughout the weekend of June 17-18. Former players will be making appearances throughout the weekend as well, including Brian Schneider, Jordan Zimmermann, Laynce Nix, Ian Desmond, Danny Espinosa, Jayson Werth, Adam LaRoche, Gio Gonzalez, and Jordy Mercer. Highlights of Ryan Zimmerman Weekend include:
FRIDAY, JUNE 17 at 7:05PM:
- The first 25,000 fans age 21+ will receive an Employee #11 T-Shirt presented by Budweiser
- 6:00-6:15PM: Live Q&A with former players hosted by Bob Carpenter
- Former Players: Jordy Mercer, Laynce Nix, Brian Schneider, Danny Espinosa, Ian Desmond, Jayson Werth and Adam LaRoche (List of players is subject to change without notice)
- 6:20-6:40PM: Live Q&A with Ryan Zimmerman hosted by Bob Carpenter
SATURDAY, JUNE 18 at 4:35PM:
- The first 10,000 fans age 12 & under will receive a 2006 Kids Ryan Zimmerman Jersey T-Shirt presented by Harris Teeter and The Washington Post
- Zimmerman’s #11 will be retired in a pregame ceremony, marking the first time this prestigious honor has been bestowed on a Nationals player
- Fan Thank-You Messages
- Parking garages open at 1:30PM, gates open at 2:00PM, and special pregame ceremony begins at 3:15PM
