The Washington Nationals invite fans to the ballpark to celebrate July Fourth and enjoy the Red, White and Blue festivities, beginning on Wednesday, July 3, with the Budweiser Clydesdales and postgame fireworks. Then, on Thursday, July 4, the Nationals will present a special two-way simulcast with service members stationed at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, while Budweiser helps fans toast to America’s birthday with a complimentary beer at the ballpark.

Ahead of the Nationals’ 6:45 p.m. ET matchup versus the Mets on July 3, the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will take a tour around the Navy Yard neighborhood, concluding at Nationals Park. The Clydesdales will remain at the Center Field Gates for fan photos until 5:30 p.m. when ballpark gates open. The celebrations will continue with a bang, as fans will enjoy a dazzling display of postgame Freedom Fireworks presented by Budweiser.

On Thursday, July 4, the Nationals will kickstart MLB’s slate of games, as they host the Mets for a special 11:05 a.m. game in the nation’s capital. All fans who are 21 and older can receive one complimentary 25 oz. Budweiser, Bud Light or Michelob ULTRA with the purchase of a game ticket. Fans can scan their ticket at select locations throughout the ballpark, including all Grand Slam Grills, Champions Grill, Budweiser Terrace, ULTRA Loft and the Budweiser Brewhouse to access their free beer promotion.

Additionally, for the second year in a row, the Nationals’ July Fourth gameday experience has been transported nearly 7,000 miles to Doha, Qatar, at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), the largest expeditionary wing in the world, as part of Nats on Base Abroad. Former Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton and pitcher Doug Fister, along with host Brittney Ramsey and mascot Screech join service members for a number of events leading up to a special watch party for the July Fourth game. Service members at AUAB will participate in several pregame and in-game activities, while a live feed from the watch party will be integrated into the game’s programming and telecast back home in Washington, D.C., creating a two-way international viewing party.

The Nationals have invited the families of 250 service members who are from the DMV and are currently deployed at AUAB to the ballpark. Airman First Class Casey Wallop will throw the ceremonial first pitch from AUAB, while his mother, father and brother (Janice, Jeff and Tyler Wallop, respectively) will throw a ceremonial first pitch at Nationals Park, connecting both sides of the international event.

The game will be simulcast to bases everywhere via the American Forces Network, which reaches more than 400,000 audience members worldwide and at sea, as part of AFN’s partnership with Major League Baseball. This Fourth of July marks the 81st anniversary of the American Forces Network’s first radio broadcast to U.S. troops in Europe during World War II. Corporal Syl Binkin delivered the radio address in England, becoming America’s first military broadcaster.
