RiverDogs Fall 3-2 in Regular Season Finale
Charleston, SC – The RiverDogs dropped their regular-season finale 3-2 to the Augusta GreenJackets in front of 4,512 fans at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.
Both sides traded scoreless frames through the third until the RiverDogs opened scoring in the bottom of fourth, when Angel Mateo was hit by a pitch with bases loaded to make it 1-0.
Augusta responded with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to jump ahead 3-1.
The RiverDogs responded in the bottom of the seventh when Andres Torres scored on an errant pickoff attempt capping scoring at 3-2.
Alex Wallace was strong in his final start of the regular campaign, delivering five innings of two-run ball. The RiverDogs bullpen combined for four innings of one-run ball over the game’s final innings.
With the loss, the RiverDogs finish the regular season at 73-59 while Augusta moved to 70-61. After a day off on Monday, the RiverDogs begin their three-game Division Series. Game one in Hickory begins at 7:00 p.m. Coverage will be available on the RiverDogs Broadcast Network at 6:45. Charleston returns home for game two of the series on Thursday, September at 7:05 p.m.
Ballpark Fun:
The regular season ended with one big, family-friendly finale at the ballpark! Kids had the chance to run the bases after the game, while free parking was available for all fans. PAW Patrol favorites Chase, Marshall, and Skye were also at the ballpark for special meet-and-greets with fans of all ages. Fans arrived early and stopped by the Fan Services booth, presented by Charleston International Airport, to sign up for their meet-and-greet timeslots. Fans also had the opportunity to bid on the team’s PAW Patrol specialty jerseys during an exclusive in-park live auction, with winning jerseys going directly off the players’ backs after the game. The fan-voted Top Dog Award winner was announced and honored after the game, and Trooper Bob was on hand, riding around the warning track in his patrol car during pregame before meeting fans throughout the afternoon. It was a fun-filled afternoon that gave fans of all ages plenty of memorable moments to enjoy!

After clinching the Carolina League South first half title, the RiverDogs have secured a spot in the 2026 postseason, presented by Nucor Steel Berkeley. The best-of-three Division Series begins on Tuesday in Hickory, September 8. Thanks to their first-half division title, the RiverDogs are guaranteed to host Game 2, and, if necessary, Game 3, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on September 10 and 11.
